What is a Car Tune Up?
Auto Tune-Ups have significantly changed since the term was first coined, when cars were first created
In the past, a Tune-Up meant replacing a vehicles spark plugs, cables, cleaning and adjusting the carburetor and replacing the distributor cap and rotor.
Now, a Tune-Up is referred to as ‘Scheduled Maintenance’ and instead of replacing several ignition parts that wear out, maintenance is now preventative.
If you’re inexperienced with cars and vehicles in general, a Tune-Up and a Service sound almost interchangeable, but there is a difference.
A Tune-Up is centered around vehicle maintenance whereas a Service is about repairing, replacing or installing vehicle parts.
If your vehicle is doing one of the following, it might be time to book some Scheduled Maintenance’ ( a Tune Up) for your vehicle!
- Hard Starts
