Headlight and Tail Light repairs are one of the most common repairs we see at RL Automotive when servicing vehicles.
Because, like a light bulb in your home, they have a limited lifespan and will eventually need to be replaced.
Your Headlights and Tail Lights indicate to other drivers whether you’re thinking about reversing, slowing, stopping or turning.
Having 1 or both of your Headlights and/or Tail Lights NOT working is a safety hazard for you and others, so it’s best to get the bulbs changed out right away once you notice.
As the vehicle lights components are quite simple to replace, it doesn’t take long for us to change out your old Halogen or LED bulbs headlights and tail lights.
Before working on the Headlight or Tail Light assembly, we need to check all of the lights on your vehicle including your indicators/blinkers, fog lights, reverse lights etc. to make sure there aren’t any other failing bulbs.
Once we have determined the light bulbs that need to be changed we will systematically go through and complete the repairs.
Vehicle Lens Repairs
Another facet of Headlight or Tail Light repair is to assess the condition of the ‘lens’.
The light lens is the clear plastic that covers and protects the light assembly and ideally, the lens should be completely clear so that your lights are efficient and can illuminate the road well.
UV Damage to the light lenses on vehicles is very common (especially in Australia!) but it can be fixed with relatively low cost through treatment or it can be replaced completely.
If you notice that your vehicles headlight or tail light lens is:
- Hazy/Cloudy in appearance
- Cracked or broken
- Fogged up on the inside
You need to get to your mechanic and replace the lens(es) quickly to prevent further damage to your vehicle.
